This is it Lambchops....my blog set up by Boss LOL! Not been up to anything exciting...went to vets with Honeypie yesterday...spent today recovering from the shock of vet charges!!!!! Well, no actually, I just went to work as usual today but, as both my bosses are off, I have been able to catch up after my hols AND work at a slower pace. It has been great, far less stressful, especially with the schools being off. I can get a seat on the bus, don't have to listen to screaming kids and there is less traffic on the roads!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a day! Poor little Honey Bunny had to be at the vet's surgery first thing for the op to repair the torn webbing on her back right paw. I rang at lunchtime and was told she was fine so went to collect her after work. I got a long list of post operative dos and donts, some anti inflammatory medication and 3 tins of prescription dog food for the next couple of days. She can't have walks for at least 10 days and has to wear a collar to stop her biting her foot. She is not allowed to climb the stairs or jump on furniture etc. If she were to bust the stitches she would have to go through it all again and at £230 my bank balance won't stand it! She has to go back on Monday evening so they can check her paw. I hope we get the same taxi driver who brought us home tonight as he was really nice and understanding, being a dog owner himself. Getting a labrador wearing a lampshade collar into the front of a taxi wasn't easy but we managed it. The hardest bit is having to keep Honey's paw covered when we take her into the garden on the lead for a wee etc. The vet said put a bag on her foot which is easier said than done, though we have coped so far by tying a shower cap round her paw. I think we will have to watch her like a hawk 24/7 to keep her from jumping onto the sofa :( She is a bit dopey, disorientated and sorry for herselt at the minute). Not sure yet when the stitches will come out...wonder how much tthat will cost????

Speaking of foot problems, my letter finally arrived from GP with reference number to allow me onto NHS Chose & Book to book my appointment to see an ortho. surgeon about my deformed feet......going on 11th May, just hope it doesn't cause too much disruption at work. I spent ages faffing about tryibg to compare the 4 hospitals I could chose from and finally opted for N Manchester General.

Thanks June......she is brighter today though we are struggling to get her to drink, had to trick her by putting a bit of food at the bottom of her water dish so she had to drink to get to it! I bought a medicine syringe from the chemists in case it continues to be a problem.

Did you have to pay for the stitches, cos normally the after care is included in original price? Glad all is ok with honey, them elizabethan collars are so funny but serve a good purpose..x x x x

Steve thinks stitch removal should be included, also the check up tomorrow, I do hope so! Honey is very very bored now. I stayed up with her last night and the anaesthetic wore off so she wants to run round and play and she can't :(

I bet you are plumb tuckered with it all. It's not only that Little Hunny Bunny is poorly it's the worry and expense all rolled into one. Plus the poor little doggie cant' tell you where it hurts.give her big hugs and sloppy kisses from us lot. I was telling Milli Mopster about her this morning she was sat on the bed with me really quiet then another dog appeared on the telly and she jumped up barked and sent a cup of tea flying all over me. Little divil but she said to give Honey a big kiss from her LOL. Luvs Ya. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

She is doing well thanks :) had a check at vets last night and they say it is healing well. We go back next Monday though stitches should disolve. Honey is still not allowed out for walks much to her disgust! How are you, Mr Lamb and Millie chops doing?
