What a day! Poor little Honey Bunny had to be at the vet's surgery first thing for the op to repair the torn webbing on her back right paw. I rang at lunchtime and was told she was fine so went to collect her after work. I got a long list of post operative dos and donts, some anti inflammatory medication and 3 tins of prescription dog food for the next couple of days. She can't have walks for at least 10 days and has to wear a collar to stop her biting her foot. She is not allowed to climb the stairs or jump on furniture etc. If she were to bust the stitches she would have to go through it all again and at £230 my bank balance won't stand it! She has to go back on Monday evening so they can check her paw. I hope we get the same taxi driver who brought us home tonight as he was really nice and understanding, being a dog owner himself. Getting a labrador wearing a lampshade collar into the front of a taxi wasn't easy but we managed it. The hardest bit is having to keep Honey's paw covered when we take her into the garden on the lead for a wee etc. The vet said put a bag on her foot which is easier said than done, though we have coped so far by tying a shower cap round her paw. I think we will have to watch her like a hawk 24/7 to keep her from jumping onto the sofa [IMAGE] She is a bit dopey, disorientated and sorry for herselt at the minute). Not sure yet when the stitches will come out...wonder how much tthat will cost????
Speaking of foot problems, my letter finally arrived from GP with reference number to allow me onto NHS Chose & Book to book my appointment to see an ortho. surgeon about my deformed feet......going on 11th May, just hope it doesn't cause too much disruption at work. I spent ages faffing about tryibg to compare the 4 hospitals I could chose from and finally opted for N Manchester General.
